Months of abuse, off-roading, dealership visits, and a high-speed crash all led to an unexpected conclusion for the long-term durability trial. YouTuber WhistlinDiesel's Tesla Cybertruck durability test began almost two years ago, and part three has just been released, likely marking the end of the saga involving the trucks in this video. The finale included the Cybertruck ramming into a Ford F-150 at over 110 miles per hour.
The latest installment opens with the Cybertruck returning to Moab, Utah, where the electric pickup suffers another setback almost immediately. According to the video, the truck loses a trailer control module while traversing the trails, leaving it unable to drive after roughly a mile. Detweiller says the missing component ultimately derailed much of the off-road testing after someone allegedly picked it up from the trail and later listed it for sale online.

Throughout the video, the Cybertruck is shown returning to Tesla service multiple times following damage sustained during various tests. At one point, the creator claims repair invoices totaled roughly $53,000 despite the truck having fewer than 1000 miles on the odometer. If there were any debates before, this should put it to bed: this is unquestionably the most abused Cybertruck per mile in existence.
And that's true even before the crash that ultimately spelled doom for the Tesla and the Ford. Detweiller used a remote control rig to successfully pilot the Cybertruck while the Ford sat idle at the end of a drag strip. According to the Tesla’s speedometer, it was traveling at 111 mph when the two collided. The impact was so forceful that the Ford basically split into multiple pieces, with the cab and frame parting ways and the back of the F-150 basically blown to smithereens.
The Cybertruck didn't fare much better. While it was still in largely one piece, the front was so crumpled there was exactly zero chance of salvage. To that end, Detweiller sent the pair off to the scrap heap with a verdict firmly in mind. He said the Cybertruck visited the shop six or seven times during the testing, while the F-150 never required dealership repairs and only needed a driveshaft replacement. For WhistlinDiesel, that was enough to declare the Ford the overall winner of the nearly two-year durability challenge.
