Toyota's off-road lineup of pickup trucks and SUVs is rather expansive these days, stretching not just across both multiple sizes of vehicles, but also multiple past-the-pavement trim levels. At the top of the lineup lie the TRD Pros, found in Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, and 4Runner form and ready to take a whack at whatever trail or path you plan on bashing in high-speed, Raptor-esque fashion.
They're meant to make their go-anywhere-fast intentions clear, and for the 2027 model year, Toyota is making it easier to pick them out of the crowd with a choice of two new shades of honey-inspired yellow paint. The first, called “Honeycomb,” is available on the Tundra TRD Pro and Tacoma TRD Pro pickups, as well as the mammoth Sequoia TRD Pro SUV. The second, dubbed “Hot Honey,” is offered solely on the TRD Pro version of the 4Runner, at least for the moment.
View Price on AmazonBoth shades do certainly bear a greater-than-expected resemblance to the hue of humanity’s favorite form of bee regurgitate, with the former perhaps coming across sliiiightly lighter in photos. The 2027 model year also brings a couple small, but appreciated, tweaks to the larger two members of the TRD Pro quartet. The updated Tundra and Sequoia receive what the carmaker describes as “purpose-built upgrades designed to enhance their off-road capability,” with the main examples cited being Fox QS3 shocks whipped up specifically for the full-size, Texas-made body-on-framers and a new set of red tow hooks.
Toyota hasn’t revealed how much the honeys will cost you when you’re rung up at the dealership, but considering other vibrant hues for the current TRD Pro models go for $695, somewhere between that and $1000 seems like a fair bet. Seeing as how America continues to have an unfortunate dearth of colorful cars these days, I say it’ll likely be worth it — at the very least for all the time you’ll save not looking for your car in the Costco parking lot.
