Toyota is introducing the Sequoia Trailhunter, a three-row SUV with off-road capabilities, featuring upgraded suspension, underbody protection, and all-terrain tires. The Sequoia Trailhunter is part of Toyota's effort to offer off-road-ready vehicles in every segment.
The Sequoia Trailhunter package includes Old Man Emu suspension, Michelin LTX Trail tires, front recovery hooks, and extra underbody protection. Additionally, it features a locking rear differential, Crawl Control, and Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select drive mode system. The Sequoia Trailhunter is based on the lower-end SR5 trim, making it a more affordable option for adventure-seekers.
View Price on AmazonThe Toyota Sequoia SUVs are built with a 3.4-liter, twin-turbo V-6 engine, which produces 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque in the current SR5 model. Some models are also available with the hybrid i-Force Max system. The new Trailhunter trim will likely feature the non-electrified version of the engine, given its SR5 trim underpinnings.
For the 2027 model year, all Sequoia models will receive a new front fascia and a new audio multimedia system with 5G network connectivity, created in partnership with AT&T. A 14-inch infotainment screen is now standard on all Sequoia trim levels, along with a standard built-in Driver Recorder dash camera. The vehicle's exterior cameras can capture 20-second clips of both manual and triggered events.
A grille-mounted LED light bar has been upgraded with brighter output, and a Rigid fog light package is available as an option. Toyota has not released pricing or production details for the 2027 Sequoia at this time, and mechanical specifications for the new Trailhunter trim have not been revealed.
