Porsche is commemorating its 75th anniversary in Australia with a special edition 911, dubbed the Land Down Under. This exclusive model is based on the 911 Turbo S and features unique design elements, including an exclusive "Chromaflair" paint finish that graduates from "Southern Cross Blue" above the shoulder line to "Terra Australis Red" towards the lower edge. The paint finish requires 300 hours of work and consists of seven layers, giving it a color-shifting effect.
The Land Down Under edition also features a combination of dark blue leather and brown upholstery, with a unique emblem on the headrests outlining Australia and "Porsche 75 Years" script overlaid. The interior also includes topographical references to the Blue Mountains, Australian Silky Oak wood inlays, and a map of the southern hemisphere's night sky as it appeared over Uluru the year Porsche arrived in Australia.
The 911 Turbo S Land Down Under is a one-off model, and as such, it will not be available for purchase. However, Porsche fans can still find great deals on the 911 through the Auto Express Buy A Car service. The Land Down Under edition is the fifth model revealed this year to celebrate Porsche's anniversary in Australia, following the unveiling of four cars – a Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, Macan 4S, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, and Cayenne S – themed around Australia's North, South, East, and West.
The 911 Turbo S Land Down Under is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, producing 641 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 205 mph.
