2026 will be the final model year for the Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo, with only the Taycan sedan surviving into the 2027 model year. Station wagons are few and far between in the United States, where customers prefer pickup trucks and SUVs. Now, sadly, the already sparse wagon population is declining even further. Porsche has decided to discontinue the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo, as first reported by Kelley Blue Book and confirmed to Car and Driver by a Porsche representative.

In a statement to Car and Driver, the Porsche spokesperson explained the reasoning behind the discontinuation of the wagon variants following the 2026 model year. "Porsche focuses its product portfolio on the wishes of its customers, and in the United States, the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo body styles of the Taycan played a minor role," he said. "It is for this reason that we have decided to discontinue these model variants."

The Taycan Cross Turismo, a lifted wagon with black plastic cladding around the wheel arches, arrived a year after the Taycan sedan in 2021. The Sport Turismo joined the lineup in 2022, and was available in the U.S. exclusively in the 590-hp GTS trim (later boosted to 750 horsepower). The Cross Turismo, meanwhile, was offered in a wide range of trims, from the 409-hp Taycan 4 to the 750-hp Turbo S.

2023 was the Taycan's best sales year so far, with 7570 units sold in the U.S. The number then fell to 4747 units in 2024 and 4142 in 2025. Porsche doesn't break out sales by body style, but we have to imagine the Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo made up a small portion of those figures.

While the wagon variants are dead, Porsche has upgraded the Taycan sedan for 2027. The previous base battery option is now gone, and all Taycans now feature the 97-kWh pack. Porsche has also now added a simulated shifting mode, with the software mimicking an eight-speed gearbox, which includes a virtual rev limiter and is operated via the paddle shifters. Deliveries of the updated 2027 Taycan start this fall.
