Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 310,000 vehicles in the US due to a brake problem that could cause the vehicle to roll away. The recall affects six model lines from the 2019 to 2026 model years, including the A-Class sedan, CLA, C-Class, CLE, GLA/GLB, and GLC.
The issue is caused by a corroding microswitch in the driver's side door lock, which can prevent the electric parking brake from engaging automatically. In the worst-case scenario, this could lead to the vehicle rolling away. However, no such incidents have been reported in the US.

Mercedes-Benz has identified that the corrosion of the microswitch is more likely to occur in high-humidity and high-temperature environments. The company has already begun replacing the door locks with new ones that have more robust switches.
Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the door locks free of charge. The production of the affected vehicles has already been modified to include the new door locks since May 20, 2026. Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by September 18, 2026.
