Mercedes-AMG has released the first teaser images of its upcoming GT SUV, set to debut in fall 2026 with deliveries starting early 2027. The GT SUV will be the second model to utilize the new AMG.EA platform, following the GT 4-door coupe.
The powertrain of the SUV model will be largely adopted from the GT 4-door, but with different performance figures. Instead of approximately 90 kWh net in the coupe, the SUV will have over 110 kWh of usable energy content, powered by up to three axial flow motors (two rear, one front) with a system output of up to 1,360 horsepower. A GT 55 4MATIC+ SUV with 816 horsepower is rumored to be the entry-level version.
View Price on AmazonThe axial flow motors come from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Berlin-Marienfelde, and the two rear motors enable torque vectoring. The interior will be adopted from the AMG GT 4-door coupe. Like the coupe, the GT SUV will also be produced at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. The grille will be adopted from the 4-door, but the main headlight will differ with a significantly longer lower element in the pattern-LED daytime running light.
The GT SUV is expected to have a top speed of over 155 mph, with acceleration from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds. The exact performance figures and pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
