Lotus has announced a significant shift in its business plan, abandoning its all-electric vehicle strategy in favor of launching a hybrid V8 sports car by 2028, known as the Type 135. This move marks a notable change in direction for the company, which had previously committed to an all-EV lineup. The new Type 135 is expected to feature a powerful V8 engine, although exact performance specifications have not been disclosed.
In addition to the Type 135, Lotus is also planning to update its current gas-powered Emira model, aiming to make it both more powerful and lighter than before. The updated Emira is expected to boast improved performance and handling capabilities, further solidifying Lotus's position in the sports car market.
