Honda is reportedly planning to keep several of its most popular vehicles in production for an extended period. The automaker has informed its suppliers that key models will continue to be manufactured through the end of the decade, a move that could help the company navigate its strategic shift towards hybrid powertrains.
According to a memo reviewed by Automotive News, Honda outlined which models are slated for continued production through 2032. The next-generation Odyssey minivan, which was previously rumored to be on the chopping block, is now scheduled to arrive in March 2030. The current fifth-generation Odyssey first hit the market in 2018 and has received two refreshes, one for the 2021 model year and another for 2025.
The HR-V crossover is set to remain even longer than the Odyssey, a logical decision given its more recent introduction. The current HR-V model debuted for 2023. Similarly, Honda plans to continue producing the Accord sedan, which could transition to an exclusively hybrid powertrain by 2030. The memo did not specify when a next-generation Accord might launch, but like the HR-V, its current iteration also went on sale for the 2023 model year.
Honda's luxury division, Acura, will also extend the lifecycle of its current Integra compact and MDX three-row SUV. Buyers can anticipate an updated Integra in early 2032, followed by an all-new MDX in early 2031.
View Price on AmazonThese production extensions come as Honda recently published its April sales report, showing mixed results for the models slated to stick around. Odyssey sales experienced a notable decline, tumbling 23.0 percent for the month and dropping 18.4 percent year-to-date.
The HR-V also saw a dip in sales, down 11.8 percent in April and 21.1 percent through the first four months of 2026. In contrast, the Accord sedan had a strong performance, with sales surging 42.5 percent for the month, contributing to a 27.5 percent increase year-to-date.
Acura's Integra also posted robust sales, up 27.1 percent in April, making it the brand’s second-best-selling model for the month, narrowly outselling the RDX crossover by just 53 units. MDX sales saw a slight decrease of 0.4 percent for the month, though both Integra and MDX remain up for the year overall.
