Hertz's Shelby-branded Ford Mustang Mach-E GTs are now available for purchase at a significant discount. The electric SUVs feature Borla's simulated exhaust and the classic black-and-gold Hertz Mustang appearance. Initially, Hertz offered a limited number of these vehicles for rent, but now they are being sold at a huge discount.
The Shelby Mach-E GTs started life as standard Mach-E GT models before receiving the traditional Hertz Shelby appearance treatment, which includes black paint with gold stripes, a body kit with a splitter, unique front grille, and lower door trim in carbon fiber. The output remains the same as a typical Mach-E GT, at 480 horsepower, but the ride height has been lowered, and forged wheels provide a small weight advantage. Additionally, Shelby added the Borla simulated exhaust to all of these cars, so you'll be treated to a fake V-8 soundtrack. Inside, there's a dash plaque noting the car's number and Carroll Shelby's signature.
According to Hertz's used car listings, you can purchase one of these unique Mach-Es for around $40,000, which is a significant discount. This price is lower than when Hertz first tried to sell these cars, with prices starting at over $60,000 last year. Even that price is likely much lower than what Hertz paid for these vehicles, considering a regular Mach-E GT without any Shelby add-ons cost at least $54,195 in 2023.
You can browse the listings on Hertz's sales site, where you'll find cars with mileage ranging from 3,275 miles to 15,153 miles. The price remains largely the same regardless of mileage, but keep in mind that these are rental cars, so it's essential to inspect them closely before making a purchase. Be sure to take a closer look at the low-hanging splitter and the black-painted forged wheels.
All of the Shelby Mach-Es are currently located in the South, with the majority found in Florida. If you're interested in an unusual Shelby-badged Mach-E, this deal could be the one to take from Hertz. As of now, only 31 of these vehicles are left in inventory, so act quickly if you're interested.
