Ford is planning to launch five new EV and hybrid models in Europe by 2029, including a new electric Fiesta and several SUVs. The new models will be tailored to European consumers and will feature a range of powertrains, including battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid models.
The first model to arrive will be the new electric Fiesta, which will be built in collaboration with Renault and will use the French firm's RG EV Small architecture. The new Fiesta will be engineered with Ford's motorsport heritage in mind, giving it a sporty, 'rally-bred' driving feel. It will also feature a dynamic multi-link rear suspension layout, which will be a first for the Fiesta.
Joining the electric Fiesta in the B-segment will be a new electric SUV, which will have similar dimensions to the current Ford Puma. The new SUV will be based on the Renault 4 and will replace the current Puma Gen-E, which features a retro-fitted electric powertrain added to the existing ICE-powered Puma chassis.
In addition to the electric Fiesta and SUV, Ford will also launch two new hybrid SUVs. The first will be a small SUV model, which will be slightly wider and taller than its BEV sister car, but will share a similar design language and potentially 'Puma' in its name. The second multi-energy SUV will be one size bigger and will act as a replacement for the Ford Kuga.
Ford has also teased a new flagship model, which will be a unique version of the Bronco tailored to European markets. The new Bronco will feature a distinct design language that channels the Bronco's aesthetic highlights, such as a blocky silhouette, round daytime running lights, and rugged styling.
