Ford has issued a recall for over 16,000 Broncos due to hard tops that could crack and delaminate, causing pieces to fly off while driving. The recall affects both two- and four-door Ford Broncos from the 2021 and 2022 model years that are equipped with the molded-in-color hard top.
The issue is attributed to problems with the supplier process and equipment parameters during production, which can cause the removable roofs to crack and delaminate. As a result, owners may notice progressive delamination and hear additional wind noise while driving. In some cases, pieces of the hard top could detach from the roof, potentially leading to debris being shed into traffic.
Ford's fix involves replacing the faulty hard tops free of charge. Although Ford and Lincoln dealers have already been notified, the automaker will send notification letters to all affected Bronco owners on November 5, 2026. In the meantime, owners can check if their vehicle is involved in the recall by contacting an authorized dealer, searching the VIN on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website, or calling Ford's toll-free line at 1-866-436-7332.
