Around 500 people globally have purchased Ferrari's controversial Luce EV, according to a new report. The new Ferrari Luce EV has already hit its sales target for the first year of production, with strong demand from China and positive feedback from US tech entrepreneurs.
Ferrari didn't officially disclose targets to the public, but according to what the Financial Times describes as “two people with knowledge of the matter,” the aim for the initial year of sales is “just under 500 units.” This figure refers to worldwide sales, so only a fraction of that number would make up US deliveries. For some perspective, Ferrari sold 13,640 cars globally in 2025; if around 500 Luces find homes in the first year, that would mean the EV makes up about 3-4 percent of Maranello’s overall sales volume.
View Price on AmazonIt already sounds like certain markets will be seeing more Luces than others, as the same Financial Times report says Ferrari hits its target “on the back of strong demand from China.” It’s no great surprise to see EV-happy China make up a big portion of demand, but the report also cites sources that claim feedback from US tech entrepreneurs is also positive. We suspect this demand for the Jony Ive-designed Ferrari is centered in places like Southern California and Silicon Valley.
The target of 500 Luces in the first year is only a start; Ferrari reportedly has eyes on sales of 600 Luces per year as a long-term goal through 2030, which would mean about 2500 vehicles total finding homes over the next four-ish years. If this report is accurate, Ferrari certainly has a chance to hit those targets, considering the first 500 or so found hand raisers in the two months after the reveal.
