Ferrari has finally unveiled its first electric vehicle, the 2027 Ferrari Luce. The Luce is a bold step into the future of electric cars, and it's clear that Ferrari is committed to making a statement. The center dial displays speed and battery charge level, while the left dial shows available power and regen level, and the right dial is configurable.
The Luce is powered by four synchronous, permanent-magnet electric motors that produce a total of 1035 horsepower. The front pair of motors makes 282 horsepower, while the rear two produce 831 horsepower. Despite weighing 4982 pounds, the Luce can reach 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and 124 mph in 6.8 seconds. The top speed is a claimed 193 mph. The Luce also features a launch mode that provides an extra 54 horsepower and optimizes the traction-control system for maximum acceleration.
The steering wheel features two manettino dials, a standard five-position unit, and an e-manettino dial that controls the powertrain. The wheel is flanked by two large paddles that control regen and maximum torque output. The left paddle selects among five levels of regen, while the right paddle increases available torque in five steps. This allows the driver to have more control over the car's acceleration and braking, making it a more engaging and dynamic driving experience.
