The company is gearing up to add more hybrids to its U.S. lineup, which is a smart move considering hybrids captured a record share of America's car sales in the first quarter, and their popularity is expected to skyrocket in the following years as buyers transition to more fuel-efficient vehicles to get some relief from the high gas prices.
The Nuvolari will be one of the first Audi plug-in hybrids to reach U.S. shores. Audi of America President Vito Paladion confirmed that the company will have hybrids in its lineup, but did not disclose which models could become hybridized in the U.S.

The crossover also accepts DC fast charging at up to 50 kW, making it a decent alternative to the Q4 e-tron, which is fully electric. One expert believes that Audi could make use of both full hybrid and plug-in hybrids, and it all depends on the cars' underlying architectures.
Volkswagen, Audi's sister company, also lacks hybrid offerings in the U.S., but they're on track to arrive here in the following years, once the Tiguan, Atlas, and Atlas Cross Sport go through their midcycle refreshes.
