Mercedes-AMG is planning to launch 27 new vehicles in the next three years, with a focus on V8-powered SUVs. The company's CEO, Michael Schiebe, told Bloomberg that the brand will reduce the number of different engines used across AMG products from 10 to four, resulting in more V8-powered models.
The new Mercedes-AMG GLS63 and GLE63S, two SUVs powered by the company's new M177 Evo 4.0-liter flat-plane V8, will make their debut on June 16, 2026. The engine produces 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.
General Motors is reportedly in talks with Lockheed Martin to supply parts for the defense contractor's weapons. Additionally, Ford is seeking permission from the U.S. Department of Commerce to continue selling its China-built Lincoln Nautilus SUV next year, as a new law prohibits vehicles with software installed in China from being sold in the U.S.
Nissan has announced that it will leverage new AI and digital tools to bring upcoming cars to market in half the time it previously needed. The first beneficiary of this plan will be the new Skyline, which will take about 26 months to launch, down from the usual 55 months.
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has set a new speed record for the quarter-mile, reaching 189.76 mph. Rivian will partner with ChargeScape to allow its EVs to interface with utilities to reduce charging prices and help balance the grid.
