Lexus has unveiled the 2027 TZ Electric SUV, a luxury three-row electric vehicle that promises to deliver impressive performance and range. Measuring 200.8 inches in length, the six-seat Lexus TZ is roughly the same size as the gas-powered LX but rides on a much longer wheelbase. The TNGA platform has been revised to allow for a longer wheelbase, providing more interior space and a smoother ride.
The Lexus TZ will be available with either 76.96-kWh or 95.82-kWh batteries, offering up to 300 miles of range. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup provides a preliminary 402 horsepower, although the final number may vary by market. The TZ can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, making it a formidable competitor in the luxury electric SUV segment.
The interior of the Lexus TZ features a range of premium materials and amenities, including ventilation and power ottomans for the first two rows. The third row benefits from generous legroom, thanks to the extended wheelbase. Other highlights include the world's longest sliding panoramic roof, one-touch folding for the second and third rows, and a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
One of the most interesting features of the Lexus TZ is its ability to produce a fake V10 sound. During the model's official presentation, the sound of the Lexus LFA was played, and it's not just for show. Toyota Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries confirmed that the sound will be available on demand, allowing drivers to experience the thrill of a V10 engine without the actual engine.
The 2027 Lexus TZ is set to go on sale in the United States by the end of this year, with full specifications and pricing details to be announced closer to launch. With its impressive range, performance, and luxury features, the Lexus TZ is sure to be a top contender in the growing electric SUV market.
