The 2027 Lexus TZ is the latest addition to the Lexus-Subaru-Toyota EV family, offering a luxurious and fancy finish to the Toyota-Subaru 3-row electric SUV family. This electric SUV boasts three rows of seating and is positioned as a crossover rather than a body-on-frame SUV like the GX and LX.
The Lexus TZ matches the bulky proportions of the closely-related Subaru Getaway and Toyota Highlander, but with Lexus-specific styling cues like a body-colored panel in place of the grille that resembles the brand's maw-like corporate face of the 2010s. The figures are familiar, with two batteries available: a larger 95.8-kWh unit and a smaller 77-kWh option.
Buyers who opt for the larger battery should see what Lexus estimates is over 300 miles of range on a single charge. All grades boast a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, but Lexus does not list the power output the system produces. However, the Highlander packs a relatively lightweight 338 hp, while the only Getaway model revealed to date brings 420 hp of punch. The Lexus seems likely to use the more powerful option, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Pricing has not yet been revealed for the TZ, but we can expect that information later in the year. Subaru Getaway models are slated to arrive at dealers at the end of this year, so Lexus buyers hoping for a three-row EV should have the option available to them late in 2026 or early in 2027. The TZ is another day, another Toyobaru EV SUV, and the Lexus-Subaru-Toyota EV cinematic universe is getting rather expansive.
